AEW Rampage Results: Scorpio Sky Retains TNT Championship, CM Punk Remains AEW World Champion – Interim Champion Will Be Crowned (06/03)

Scorpio Sky has finally moved past relationships with Sammy Guevara and Frankie Kazarian, and has a new challenger in the next face. Dante Martin would respond to the open challenge, and after pushing Hangman Page to the limit for the AEW World Championship? Sky would be wise not to overlook this high-flying challenger.

Scorpio Sky Retains TNT Champion, CM Punk Championship Situation Clarified

Sky would try to corner Martin to start the game, before grabbing a headlock. Martin would fend off Sky, before Sky knocked him down with a shoulder tackle. Sky reached out to Martin before trying to kick him in the chest. Martin would block and hit a quick arm swing, before being knocked to the outside.

On the ground, Martin landed a few seemingly weak strikes, before learning why Sky was hanging out with the American Top Team killers. Body shots would land, but Sky let Martin recover. A double leg takedown would bring Martin to the mat, before a few punches to the face. Sky would apply the chinlock, before hitting a PK to the spine.

Martin would finally throw some good forearm shots, before sending Sky to the outside with a dropkick. A massive splash to the ground would land, before hitting the big shotgun dropkick for both counts in the ring. Tony Khan is reportedly announcing a Battle Royale, and the winner will face Forbidden Door #1 ranked Jon Moxley to name an interim AEW Champion. CM Punk is NOT releasing the belt! He will remain champion, with only a recovery period of 6 to 12 weeks. Obviously, this situation could change, but AEW is betting on the success of its operation.

Back in the ring, Sky would set up his finisher, nailing the TKO for the finish. The match was secondary to how the World Championship scene unfolds, and we’ll see a unification match between CM Punk and whoever emerges from Forbidden Door as the interim AEW World Champion.
