They communicated via a television link and socially distanced themselves at work during the lockdown.
But Andi Peters and Phillip Schofield were reunited this weekend as the ITV stars enjoyed lunch together.
And touring competition reporter Andi, 50, looked in good shape as his massive biceps nearly broke his shirt sleeves in photos shared on Instagram by This Morning host Phillip Schofield, 59.
The broadcaster wrote: “Finally! A good catch up with @andipeters, ‘
The couple looked happy to be in each other’s company as they smiled at their restaurant table.
Former Live & Kicking frontman Andi, who presents competitive spots for ITV on his daytime TV, had his huge arms exposed, proving he was clearly a fan of the gym.
He looked stylish but relaxed in a sky blue polo shirt as he wore a pair of dark denim jeans.
Phillip wore a light white sweater that was a shade similar to his hair, and the couple smiled for the camera before heading back to their meal.
Andi rose to prominence on the BBC in 1989 when he hosted the children’s show The Broom Cupboard alongside Phillip and Andy Crane.
He was accompanied by the Ed the Duck hand puppet which sported a bright green mohican.
The star spent four years on the show before moving on to host Live & Kicking with Emma Forbes and John Barrowman.

He has also appeared on The O-Zone and Top of the Pops, and since 2013 he has been narrating The Big Reunion on ITV.
Piers Morgan revealed last year that Andi quietly raised money behind the scenes.
Before leaving Good Morning Britain in March, Piers, 55, left Andi feeling ’embarrassed’ last October, as he revealed the veteran TV personality was secretly ‘smelly rich’.
Andi has been seen making his usual appearance on the popular ITV show to promote his latest competition, where £ 500,000 is up for grabs for one lucky viewer.
However, amid subsequent banter among the presenters, Piers revealed that Andi actually owns the company that promotes the lucrative competitions.
Running the contest outside Castle Hedingham in Essex, while standing next to a classic Bentley, Andi fanned the flames when he started the exchange with Piers, who was sitting in the studio alongside by co-host Susanna Reid.
He said, “You know what? I, Susanna, we live very normal lifestyles. But Piers, he definitely lives the lifestyle of the rich and famous and so can you.
Not the type to take the playful long shot, Piers replied, “I tell you what, let’s get back to Peters for a minute.” Hey Peters, what’s your net worth?
Piers continued, “ People just think you’re showing up in your little orange jacket and showing off the promos. No! He owns the company doing the promotions.
“So when you call me rich and famous you stink rich, don’t you Peters, don’t you Peters?”
“This car is one of your ten,” Piers said jokingly. “This castle is yours! This jacket, four thousand. Versace jacket. Just remember, every promo you watch … kerching, kerching.
Trying in vain to mock the jokes that have turned against him, Andi said about his fortune: “We are not talking about that”, before adding “it is embarrassing”.
Apparently happy to have silenced his colleague in this hilarious exchange, Piers concluded, “There you go. This will prevent him from talking about my wealth.
