SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A new ad from Democratic congressional candidate Ammar Campa-Najjar claims that former congressman Darrell Issa has cut small businesses and stood in line for a P3 loan.
The ad claims that Issa’s businesses received $ 150,000 from the relief program and that her campaign received a loan of the same amount from the company.
In response to these claims, Republican candidate Darrell Issa held a press conference to refute the “outright lies” that appeared in the ad.
Issa explained, “No funds were transferred from Green Properties to any of Darrel and Kathy Issa’s accounts in May, June, July or August.”
Democratic candidate Ammar Campa-Najjar joined KUSI News to explain why he produced the ad and whether he still thinks the claims are lies.
Campa-Najjar explained an independent group that says the same thing about Issa, so “it doesn’t just come from my campaign. It has enough credibility for an outside group to make the same claim.
Campa-Najjar then attacked Issa for his wealth.
