New hyperoptic broadband agreements make BT, Sky and Virgin expensive

We all want faster, better broadband, but upgrading your speeds doesn’t always come cheap. Upgrading to super-fast speeds from Internet Service Providers (ISPs) such as BT, Sky and Virgin can cost over £ 45 per month.

For example, Sky’s 500Mbps speeds are currently £ 45, and you’ll pay £ 44.99 for BT’s 500 fiber. Upgrading to Virgin’s M500 plan, which brings 512Mbps speeds to your living room, costs £ 46 per month.

If this all seems too much for the bank balance to handle, there is another option with Hyperotic offering much lower prices right now.

The new introductory sale offers monthly packages starting at £ 20 per month.

Even the fastest 1 Gbps plan costs just £ 35 in the current sale, which is a savings of over £ 20 compared to the regular price.

If you didn’t already know, Hyperoptic’s premium gigabit broadband (£ 35 per month) lets you download a feature film in high definition in just 40 seconds. For comparison, that same movie takes over 10 minutes over a standard 70 Mbps connection.

Things get even better if you own a PS5 or Xbox Series X, with a 50GB game taking just 7 minutes to upgrade to the console – that same title would take almost two hours through that 70Mbps speed.

These hyperoptical offers last for a full 24 months, so you’ll benefit from this low price for two years before needing to change contracts.
Of course, like most things in life, there is a problem as Hyperoptic cables are not on every street in the UK. The company has now spurred things on in more than 50 towns and cities, but sadly not everyone will have access to this deal.
