Newcastle takeover: Kick It Out plans urgent talks with club after fans wear fake headdresses | Football news

[ad_1]

Kick It Out is planning urgent talks with Newcastle to ask the club to discourage fans from wearing fake headdresses after the takeover of the Saudi-backed consortium.

Many fans wore tea towels and other headgear during Sunday’s game against Tottenham at St James’ Park – the club’s first since the new owners took over.

The actions of the fans are seen as a false show of support for Newcastle’s new owners.

Kick It Out is keen to offer educational workshops to fans in the Northeast to explain why this might be seen as stereotypical and culturally offensive.
