Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Arsenal omits striker for “disciplinary violation” | Football news

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been excluded from Arsenal’s squad to face Southampton for breach of discipline, Mikel Arteta has said.

When asked why Aubameyang was not included before the Premier League game in the Emirates, Arteta replied: “Unfortunately due to a disciplinary offense.

“I think we’ve been very consistent that we have certain non-negotiable elements in the squad that we’ve set for ourselves as a club, and he’s not involved today.”

He added: “It’s not an easy situation and it’s not a situation where we want to have our club captain.”

On Friday, Arteta refuted claims that a problem was developing between the two, after suggestions from Air sports‘Gary Neville that there was a problem in the works.

The Arsenal captain was named to the substitute bench against Everton and only came on in the 85th minute, snatching a late strike to extend his scoreless Premier League run to six games.

Although Arteta insisted that all decisions were made solely in the best interests of the team, he admitted that the sterile spell in front of goal had shaken the forward’s confidence, saying: “Any decision no It’s not personal, but when a player doesn’t score it affects mood, confidence and belief – but you have to try not to accept it and feel sorry for yourself.

“It’s about patches and times and when you’re in good shape and hitting the goals, then try to keep it going for as long as possible while trying to cut down on the time they’re not in good shape.”

Why Arteta’s decisions call for scrutiny

By Nick Wright

“I want more from my team,” said Mikel Arteta Air sports. The Arsenal manager offered no excuse for his side’s poor performance in Monday’s 2-1 loss to Everton, but for many fans, the players aren’t the only ones underperforming right now .

A third loss in four games has left Arteta under increasing scrutiny. “It was a disturbing sign, How? ‘Or’ What they lost, “said Air sports expert Jamie Carragher. After the 3-2 loss to Manchester United, it was the second game in a row in which Arsenal lost the advantage.

The momentum of their 10-game unbeaten streak was lost as rivals found theirs. As a result, Arsenal collapsed in seventh place, behind Manchester United and Tottenham – two clubs which were in crisis just a few weeks ago.

It would be a stretch to call Arsenal’s current situation a crisis. They are just four points behind fourth-placed West Ham, which they face at Emirates Stadium next week. “They can win the next game at home and they will always be difficult for the top four,” Carragher added.

But it is nonetheless concerning how quickly their progress collapsed and Arteta didn’t help himself with some of the decisions that ultimately contributed to their latest loss.
