Semi-annual broadband packages from Jio, Tata Sky, BSNL and more

Broadband connectivity has become a necessity since the pandemic hit, whether working from home, learning online or running businesses. While many users may stick to monthly broadband packages offered by Internet Service Providers (ISPs), there may also be a portion of users who wish to opt for broadband packages with longer validity. For such scenarios, many ISPs offer broadband packages with six-month validity that could help customers save costs or gain additional benefits. Below are some of the selected semi-annual broadband packages offered by ISPs such as Jio, BSNL, Tata Sky, etc., along with the related benefits.

Broadband packages with six months validity

The first blueprint on the list is actually a hit blueprint from Jio. JioFiber offers a 150 Mbps broadband plan at a cost of Rs 5,994 for six months. However, users get a long-term plan because the actual validity of the plan is 180 days + additional 15 days at no additional cost. With this plan of JioFiber, users enjoy symmetrical download and upload speed of 150 Mbps. Additionally, JioFiber’s plan includes subscriptions to 14 OTT platforms and two Jio apps. OTT subscriptions include Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar and more.

Moving on to the next one, a plan from the public telecommunications company BSNL which under Bharat Fiber Broadband only provides one semi-annual plan. Users can access the phone company’s “Fibre Premium Plus Half Yearly” package which offers 200 Mbps internet speed at a cost of Rs 7,024 for a six-month validity period. The mentioned price is excluding GST and the plan comes with a FUP limit of 3300 GB or 3.3 TB. Premium Plus Half Yearly” also offers a 90% reduction of up to Rs 500 on the rent on the first bill.

Next on the list is a Tata Sky Broadband plan. One of India’s leading service providers, Tata Sky Broadband, offers a semi-annual subscription offer with all its broadband plans. Tata Sky is one of the key players in the market and has always offered plans based on the needs of the user. Users can get Tata Sky Broadband‘s 200 Mbps package priced at Rs 5,550 for six months. The plan actually helps users save around Rs 1,350 compared to what they would have paid monthly. Tata Sky Broadband’s 200Mbps plan is actually cheaper but does not offer any additional benefits such as subscriptions to OTT platforms.

Speaking of semi-annual plans, India’s booming internet service provider, Excitel, offers high-speed connectivity at just three speeds. All three plans are valid for six months. Users can get the 100 Mbps, 200 Mbps or 300 Mbps plan from Excitel for a price of Rs 490, Rs 545 and Rs 600 respectively. Prices mentioned are for a monthly basis and GST is not included. Moreover, Excitel’s plans are truly unlimited and no FUP data caps are imposed.

Last on the list is a broadband package offered by You Broadband. The ISP is powered by Vodafone Idea and offers its services in 18 selected cities of India. The telco offers a broadband package with a speed of 200 Mbps for a price of Rs 6,372 with a validity period of 190 days. The package price includes GST and the FUP data taken from the plan is 3.5TB or 3500GB. The mentioned plan is based on the city of Chennai and may differ a bit across the country.
