Founded in 1916 as Sterling Country Club, the course has a rich history in Colorado golfing history. This golf course is the premier golf course in the northeast region of Colorado. Sterling Country Club is the oldest in northeast Colorado and one of Colorado’s premier five courses.
The change of ownership is the third in the last decade for the course. The course was purchased and taught at Northeastern Junior College in 2010 by the late Frank Walsh, with the goal of adding culinary and land management programs to the college’s offerings and the name was changed to Northeastern 18. In 2014, the course was sold to the Lebsock Family. In 2020, Sterling Golf LLC acquired Northeastern 18 from the previous ownership group.
The Sky Ranch team is thrilled to share that they have begun to build on their historic foundations and have embarked on a revitalization program which includes capital improvements, a rebranding program and the renaming of the resort. installation in Sky Ranch Golf and Grill. As part of the rebranding and improvement program, the golf course, restaurant and banquet facilities have undergone significant upgrades. The course features multiple tees on each hole, providing golfers of all ages and abilities with an enjoyable challenge.
Sky Ranch Golf & Grill now offers a full-service restaurant, open Tuesday through Sunday, and multiple event spaces to fit any special occasion. Their large bay windows overlooking the terrace and the 18th arrondissement green make it a perfect setting. They feature the “19th Hole”, an exclusive conference room equipped with a state-of-the-art audiovisual system, cables and wireless Internet connection. The course is open to the public for daily play, with a variety of membership options also available.
