Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provides an update on Christian Eriksen’s possible return to Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit of Dele Alli as part of a regular report for the January transfer window.
Speaking on Sky Sports News’ Transfer Talk, he also has the latest news on Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori’s impending loan to AC Milan and the race to sign much-loved teenage Moises Caicedo.
Inter want Spurs loan fees for Eriksen
Christian Eriksen wants to leave Inter. He would love to be back in the Premier League and especially with Tottenham. Obviously he’s had a fantastic time with Tottenham so he would love to be back at Spurs but at the moment it’s not that easy because of his salary.
Inter are asking Tottenham to pay fees for his loan if he joins, simply because they paid € 20million a year ago to sign him when his contract was due to expire in six months.
I’m sure they will try in the next few days, but at the moment the situation is not that easy, and other Premier League clubs are also chatting with people around the player.
PSG continue the deal with Alli
Paris Saint-Germain is pushing. They want Dele Alli on loan until the end of the season with no option to buy, just a simple loan until the end of the season.
Dele Alli is also pushing because he wants to leave Tottenham. He respects the club, the manager, the owner, everyone at the club, but he just wants to play and he’s not playing for Tottenham right now.
Mauricio Pochettino would like to get it back, that’s why they are pushing and they hope in the coming days to change the situation with Daniel Levy.
For the moment, Daniel Levy does not want to let go of Alli, but Alli is pushing and Paris Saint-Germain will try again in the coming days.
Tomori’s move to AC Milan will be over soon
I think this deal will be done tomorrow [Tuesday]. It’s really very close, it’s just a matter of details. It will be a loan with an option to buy.
We’re talking about good talent and Frank Lampard loves him, but he wasn’t playing. At the moment, AC Milan are asking for a buy option, but the buy option will be 30 million euros and it will be really difficult for AC Milan next summer to pay those fees.
If Tomori does well they obviously will, but at the moment it’s not sure so we see this as a loan deal and AC Milan will decide this summer.
The player wants to leave. He wants to play, he’s a young player and he’s a talented player.
Keep an eye out for: Moises Caicedo
I think it will be interesting to see what happens with Moises Caicedo, just because we know he was close to joining Manchester United and then they decided not to make an official offer.
Brighton and Newcastle are in the race, Brighton is really close but there is the issue of the work permit to be settled in the coming days.
We have also had rumors about Chelsea but they are not currently working on Caicedo. We’ll see if Manchester United will be back – probably in the next few months if they don’t sign with any club just yet.
