West Ham are closing in on a deal for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, with costs estimated at £ 14million.
There are a number of elements of the transfer that still need to be worked out, but West Ham is hopeful they can close the deal.
West Ham also had talks with Marseille about Duje Caleta-Car and with Chelsea for Kurt Zouma.
Last week, Sky Sports News reported that a deal for Zouma seemed very difficult to strike, with Milenkovic becoming a more realistic option.
Zouma has been the main target from West Ham center-back and the Frenchman is believed to be very open to a move to the London stadium, but the difficulty lies in the assessment – with Chelsea reportedly wanting around £ 25million – and the player’s salary.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old Serbian international Milenkovic, who has been with Fiorentina since 2017, only has one year left on his current contract.
Milenkovic made 34 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina last season, and the last appearance for Serbia in their World Cup qualifier with Portugal in March.
